    The game looks good and interesting. I enjoy games with open world exploration. Looks worth a try.

    Also, did I just see a mini version of Jack Skellington from The Nightmare Before Christmas hanging onto the back of the game character, ‘Wanderer’ you play as in the game’s trailer?!

    Anybody is able to use the controller? No matter what I try, my PS4 controller isn’t recognized

    @korr4k,

    You would have better luck with using an Xbox 360 or Xbox One controller for Windows, than you would with trying to get a PS4 Controller to work.

    That would be like asking Sony if they can make a Universal Game Controller that works on PCs with your Windows OS, as well as on your Playstation 4.

    “Hey Sony, … Do you Windows?”

    “Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat?!”

      @tekmarvl

      We are in 2021, PS4 controllers are 100% recognized by Windows 10 and Steam and, in fact, I can use mine in any new game without a problem. Even when this doesn’t work, there are in any case software like DS4Windows and XInput that emulate with precision the Xbox controller. In my case no matter what I try, the game simply uses the KB+M.
      I don’t think the problem is the type of controller I used, but how the game handles it. From what I have gathered, the game takes advantage of Steam to recognize and use any controller but ofc the Codex version can’t do this, It is probably necessary to modify some config file to tell the game to look for the controller, I was just asking if any of you had this issue. Don’t comment with something so pointless that only shows how little you know about the topic

      Best regards

        @korr4k,

        Respectfully, I am aware of everything that you just mentioned in your reply to me, including DS4 for Windows, heck, long before there was even a DS4 for Windows, there was an app for PS3 controllers.
        But aside from that, that still doesn’t necessarily mean that either Windows, or a third party game controller app like DS4 will work the way you expect or want it to work for every possible game that you wish to play in a Windows 10 OS environment, just because you propose, or think that it might.

        Tell me, how many games overall can you attest to that you own, or have played that have 100% full of console controllers not made by Microsoft, that have full without the need of having to use a third party app like DS4.
        Show me those statistics, a site, reviews, any solid proof from either Sony or Microsoft themselves that make the exact same claim that you are trying to show for 100% full Sony Console Controller in Windows 10.

        As I said before, there is much greater from Microsoft, with their own game console controllers In Windows 10, than there is for any other game console controller.
        Plus, while on topic, Windows 10 even incorporates the use of Xbox live services, has the Xbox console companion, and the Xbox game bar built into the OS.

        Do you think that when Microsoft was working on building their latest Windows OS, they were consulting with Sony on full of their console game controllers?!
        I don’t think so!

        Only Two years ago did Microsoft and Sony get together to talk about a partnership to collaborate and develop future cloud solutions, because both Amazon and Google Stadia was ahead of the game with it’s cloud streaming service that could allow Gamers to play their games through the service on any device, without the need of owning or having a game console.

        Even if you were to look up what type of OS the PS4 runs on, I’m sure that you would have no argument to uphold, when you realize that it isn’t running on a Microsoft OS, but rather on Orbis OS, which is a fork of FreeBSD version 9.0.
        Here is your source for information to save you the trouble:
        https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PlayStation_4_system_software

        Even the Playstation 5 OS has a redesigned PS4 Interface, which I quote here from the current VP of UX design at Playstation said himself, “Matt MacLaurin, the current vice president of UX design at PlayStation, described the redesigned interface as a “very interesting evolution of the OS”, and a “100 percent overhaul of the PS4 UI and some very different new concepts”
        Source: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PlayStation_5#System_software
        Look under the heading: System software
        Still not using any kind of OS that Microsoft developed.

          @korr4k,

          Even if you do somehow manage to get your PS4 controller to work with Shattered: Tale Of The Forgotten King, that does not necessarily mean that the Developer behind this game had full console controller in mind with Playstation console controllers.

          On whole, from my own experience, and from what I have seen from some game developers even, there is greater for Microsoft based game controllers, than there are for Sony Playstation controllers.

          Why do you think I said what I said in my original post before all of this dispute started?

          Sure, you can go ahead and spend your free time configuring, and screwing around your own system with third party controller apps all you want to, till you are blue in the face with frustration, or you can simply take the easy way and go straight to the source of asking the Game Developers themselves to add for Playstation console type controllers like the PS4 and PS5.
          But, you didn’t think of that did you?

          So, instead of telling me that I posted something pointless, how much more pointless was it for you to think that I had no idea of what I was talking about before I even posted my first reply to you, hey?

          I’m not sitting here telling you what you can or can not comment on, though however you seem to think that you somehow have the authority to tell me what I can or can not say.

          Realistically speaking, you are not the first Guest or the last, who has come to this site, disagreeing with something I have said, and you know what, that’s okay, cause even when I suggest something to someone who may have a difference of opinion, it doesn’t mean that I am necessarily wrong about what I had said.

          And if you want to go so far as to challenge me in what I know, or what you think I don’t know, you are more than welcome to prove me wrong, but until I can see some valid points to disclaim or discredit all that I had said and mentioned here on in about Windows 10 and full game controller from something other than Microsoft product related, then and only then can you and I have a REAL OPEN ENDED DISCUSSION ON THE MATTER.

          In the meantime, have fun with setting up your PS4 controller to work with this game….
          OR, you can simply try plugging in an Xbox 360 or Xbox One controller, if you have one lying around somewhere, and for the record you won’t even need a client like STEAM to recognize the game controller plugged into one of your free USB ports, because Windows of course, will pick up it, recognize it, and or install the proper drivers for it.
