Make sure that after you have extracted the RAR archive that none of the following folders and files are missing:
.installer
ANOMALY
ANOMALY.bin
anomaly.nfo
setup.exe
Confirm that all folders and files listed above are there, and then double-click setup.exe to run the installer to patch the game with the latest update version.
If anything listed above is missing, check your Windows Defender or Anti-virus (if using one), protection history or Quarantine to see if it may have moved any files there, and if it had, choose to restore them to their original place.
Then, add the entire folder to Windows Defender Exclusions list:
Windows Security > Virus & threat protection > Virus & threat protection settings > Manage settings > Exclusions > Add or remove exclusions
Click on the Add an exclusion button.
Select Folder.
Select the Drive and the directory of where you extracted the ANOMALY Update installer for v1.05 to.
Click on the Select Folder button.
The Drive and the directory path will now be added to the Exclusions list for Windows Defender.
You should do the same thing if you have any other Antivirus program that you may be using besides Windows Defender.
I have not had any issues with running the ANOMALY patch update installer for v1.05.
When updating your own game, you should update to v1.03 first, then update to v1.05.
Both update installers from ANOMALY have an option to Apply the crack as the game is being updated. The Apply crack option should be automatically ticked. If it is not, then you can tick it yourself to have the crack automatically applied to the game.
You should never apply any updates to your game when it is running, as it could severally mess up your game, or corrupt your game’s data like save games and progress.
Always apply updates when you are not running the game.
hey thx for the reply, you might have been right about the defender exclusion because this error wasnt occuring on my desktop (where i originally ed) only when i moved it to my laptop. I ended up using the new 1.05 alternate from amigos and it worked fine tho (havent yet tried with the exclusions on the flt builds again…)
