How to solve PS4 controller disconnecting issue?
This Forza Horizon 5 is very demanding: I’m playing it with a RTX 2070 in 4K all maxed out and I only get around 29-30 fps which is mostly unplayable because it’s a racing game and you need speed and fluidity. I was playing Forza Horizon 4 with the same graphics card RTX 2070 all maxed out at 4K at 55-60 fps solid with no stuttering. It’s a shame they made this 5th episode so heavy and unoptimized. I am obliged to play it at 1440p to only get 45 fps but it looks ugly with my 4K display, blurred everything

Its not very demanding.. in fact, it runs even better in my system (gtx 1660) well, not better, same as fh4. 60fps. If only the game wasnt unplayable due to crashes…. lol.
Forza titles were never optimized for 4k, among other things. But if you were able to play FH4 at 4k with good framerates, you should be able to do the same with Fh5.
There are no huge graphic improvements or fancy new things that could cause a substantial drop on fps anyways.
But again, as i said multiple times, the game is a total mess, and until pgg / microsoft fixes it with a few patches i would not even bother to play it.

Guys install newest amd/nvidia drivers! I had no Crashes after Game Ready Update and on Extreme Settings its activating Raytracing. Turn it off for better Performance. And if possible use a SSD. There you go

this game is very heavy. I’m trying it with my rtx 2080 and barely get 35 fps at 2160p which drop consistently when many opponent cars are in the track and sometimes reach as low as 22-23 fps. This never happened to me with the previous FH4 that I finished at 2160p at 70 fps and more all the single player mode. FH5 really needs DLSS, I hope Nvidia will consider that, otherwise this title is unplayable at 2160p

• my rig is quite old – 13″ laptop with 7700hq kabylake 7th gen with 32 gb sodimm ddr4 2400 mhz ram connected to an external graphics dock amplifier loaded with a gtx 1080 ti
• my nvidia drivers are outdated – 442.74
• my windows version 20h2
• forza horizon 5 runs flawlessly
• however, to run it buttery smooth, i had to lower the settings
• forza horizon 5 is a very demanding game to run at max settings unlike forza horizon 4 which can easily run smoothly on my old rig at max settings
• before running the game, i disable windows defender as well as msi afterburner and rtss

In the intro, in-game, launching the game.. everywhere. WAIT FOR THE DEVS TO RELEASE A FEW PATCHES until they fix whatever they need to fix. Everything works just fine. 1050Ti, high settings – the visuals are wonderful.
The only problem is I don’t see any offline drivatars, unlike FH4, where you could have random races with them.

FOR those whose game crashes at start, YOU need to add the game folder to your Security Software exception. Works very well including with Raytracing enabled.

I managed to play for around 1 hour, it finally crashed and after I tried to reopen, got the error “e:10cd-f” invalid profile. I try to reinstall, always the same error right at start now, can’t play at all. 🙁 Tried to boot it up with internet off, same thing.
Anyone has another solution by any chance?. Otherwise gonna wait for a next patch and wish it will work this time.

Found a way to fix this:
1. disable the windows defender, or any anti virus
2. create .bat file for closing explorer.exe before launching the game
this is the code:
TIMEOUT /T 70 /NOBREAK
taskkill /f /im explorer.exe
if you dont believe with this code you can try this with anti virus on
its basically a program to automatically end task the explorer.exe to make the memory more free and avoiding any issue between the game and windows explorer.exe
after that run the bat file before playing
3. open the start menu, run fh 5 as
4. when exit the desktop use ctrl+alt+end > run task > type “explorer.exe”
*ctrl+alt+delete
OK now it works : it was a problem with AVAST !
