You dont need to buy them. Videogames are hyper mega overpriced these days and its the main reason i will never ever buy any of them. Of course there are other reasons, like , im tired of buying crappy games, with lazy developers, games with crappy performance, console ports that smell badly, etc, etc, so time ago i reached a point where my patience run out. And i told myself to never ever buy a videogame ever again. Sometimes if i see an incredible offer in insta-gaming, i buy one (like a game selling for 5$ when its full price is 50$, for example), but thats about it. Im done lol. I mean, i pirated games almost every day, and i keep about 1 of them from maybe 20?? because one reason or another.. so. If i had to buy them… that will be crazy. Many games are completely trash, and its steam and other plattforms fault, that are ok with publishing absolutely everything they grab. And they are destroying the videogaming industry.

It’s tied to the date for some reason so switching it to any previous day (and reboot your pc) fix the problem but it’s really annoying, better waiting for a new crack.
Seems like the default crack (Codex folder in the .iso) fix the problem too, atleast for now

confirmed, it will switch the game automatically to russian after ~3 days and does not allow switching back. Needs another crack hotfix

Open steam_emu.ini in game root with any text editor and add BlockConnection=1 on a new line after Offline=0, then save the file
Open C:\s\Public\Documents\Steam\CODEX\412020\remote\.cfg in any text editor and edit lang_sound and lang_text params (lang_sound us & lang_text us – for English, in example)
Repeat the same operation with “C:\s\\Saved Games\metro exodus\76561197960267366\.cfg”
Play in your desired language.
Alternatively you can BLOCK MetroExodus.exe in your Firewall (check this link for how to do it) and then switch the language either by running included BAT-files or with manual editing of “C:\s\Public\Documents\Steam\CODEX\412020\remote\.cfg”. If you don’t know how to configure your Firewall – you may simply unplug your Internet connection for the game session.

Can confirm editing and steam configs files works. I didn’t have a config on in my public folders , just 1 in the mentioned saved games folder, edited just that and the steam config in the game folder and it worked fine, thank you for this:)
Language Fix
On June 2, 2020 developers introduces a new antipiracy check for running game executable, if it has access to the Internet. The game now always forces to Ukrainian, no matter what language you had before.
There is a fix for that:
Open steam_emu.ini in game root with any text editor and add BlockConnection=1 on a new line after Offline=0, then save the file
Open C:\s\Public\Documents\Steam\CODEX\412020\remote\.cfg in any text editor and edit lang_sound and lang_text params (lang_sound us & lang_text us – for English, in example)

get the gog version i did and it installs perfect and the language stays english right from the start!! just search metro exodus gold edition gog look for the freegog games one and boom its all install and your good to go no turning your internet connection off or registry tweaks!
